At the end of World War I, many new democracies were established in Europe. In the years between the two world wars, what happened to most of these democracies?

    Answer: most of them were born out of Austrian-Hungarian empire (this empire got desintegrated after the defeat in 1918). Between two wars these democracies became threatened by authoritarian regimes or by Nazi Germany.

    Explanation: all of these democracies were overthrown. They could not survive at that time.
