    King George the Third was the King Great Britain as well as the King of Ireland. It was during his time that Britain colonised America.

    King George the Third was referred to as a Tyrant due to his actions towards the Americans people

    Some of the tyrant acts of King George includes

    a. Cutting of colonial trade with other parts of the world.

    b. Taxing the colonists (Americans) unjustly, highly and without their consent.

    c. Forcing the colonists to accommodate the presence of the British military.

    d. Depriving the colonists of trial by jury.

    The actions of King George the Third caused the colonists to revolt, after which they formed a congress to release a Declaration known as the Declaration of Independence on October 25, 1774 which contain 27 detailed grievances that the American people had against the actions of King George the Third and it also explained why the they revolted. This Declaration was a respectful petition in the form of an Olive branch.

    King George the Third rejected the Declaration, he did not read it and tagged the American Colonists as rebellious people and traitors. He. also declared the American Congress formed by the colonists as illegal.
