What are the key events of the battle at Lexington Concord?

    a) The British troops were sent to Lexington to capture the two patriot leaders, John Hancock and Samuel Adams.

    b) The British troops were also sent because the Patriots were hiding weapons/gunpowder that needed to be taken away

    c) The first gunshot was called "the shot heard round the world," and that gunshot initiated the battle. It is unknown who shot that bullet.

    d) Surprisingly, the Americans won this battle. The British retreated back to Boston. This battle taught the British that the Americans were NOT unorganized rebels.
