When considering the history of the federal government's powers over the states, what generally happens with the federal power during major economic depressions or world wars?

    During economic depressions and wars, the federal government usually extends their power into the economy and other areas such as services. This creates cooperative federalism also known as marble cake. Take the Great Depression, FDR implemented his New Deal.
