    In the 1980s the United States Congress created a law known as ‘Superfund’ which allocated money for the disposal of hazardous waste. The Superfund, also referred to as the Comprehensive Environmental Response Compensation and Liability Act of 1980, envisaged establishing a countrywide clean-up program for bio-hazardous waste.
