After the Independence of African nations, they have had different forms of governments over the year. Some have gone for a complete democratic system but many others have gone down on the road of dictatorship.

    Explanation:

Most of the African continent was colonized by the British and French and to a lesser extent by Italy and Belgium for centuries. Many nations saw local freedom movements and eventually the countries gained independence from colonial rule.

Many of these countries have maintained the established institutions the colonial governments left behind including railways, mail systems and even courts etc.

While many countries had a blueprint for democracy, not every country followed a similar path. Countries such as Ghana had a thriving Democratic government system but other countries such as Libya and Morocco had been strict dictatorships for a long time.
