    The Berlin Blockade

    Explanation:

The Blockade was intended to strengthen an authoritarian and socialist regime in the city as it occurred in the East.

Soviets demanded the removal of Deutsche Mark as a West currency, and in response took the railways, roads, etc.

Communication within the country to the west of Berlin was only possible by air.

Berlin became politically controlled by Soviet propaganda and the city was later to be divided by a wall to control the migration and increasing numbers of people moving to the West.

The city quickly turned into a crisis, but after a year the Soviet side decided to end to Blockade in May 1949.
