    Shays's rebellion was the rebellion by the farmers of the Massachusetts region who were war veterans and burdened by excessive taxes. Heavy taxes were imposed on them by the state to pay war debt and rebellion exposed the weakness of the Congress to tax, pay for war debts and regular standing army. It became an evident reason for a strong federal government and revising Article of Confederation.
