Gone are the incomes, and the security

Restless people are in search of hope.

Everyone wonders what happened?

And nobody has any answer

To soothe the confused.

Days go by without food, clothing, or shelter.

Endless lines of people wait for soup and bread.

Politicians look the other way while

Rural voters lose their poll positions.

Easterners meet Westerners in search of hope;

Southerners, too become Northbound migrants.

Sadly, no hope is in sight.

International mistrust and ruin festoon the world.

Once upon a time the world was a wealthy place,

Now will we ever see good fortune again
