    How did the Punic Wars affect the development of the Roman Empire?

    - The Punic wars were three wars between Rome and Carthage from 264 BC to 146 BC and the were the wars that had the largest period ever. The effect that they had in the Roman Empire were the followings:

    1. With the destruction of the Carthage, Rome was the #1 power in the Mediterranean.

    2. Rome entered a new period. One that saw the of the Republic, and the rule of emperors who would expand the Rome Empire.
