    B. The House tried Clinton and convicted him of high crimes and misdemeanors

    Explanation:

On October 8, 1998 the House of Representatives of the United state began the impeachment of Bill Clinton for high crimes and misdemeanors. This was a result of a case filed against him for sexual harassment by Paula Jones. On December 1998, Clinton was impeached by the House and was forwarded to the Senate for judgement based on two articles. At the Senate Clinton was acquitted of both charges and received the majority two thirds vote allowing him to remain in office for the remaining term.
