    The colonists responded to the British policy by boycotting their products and services.

    Explanation:

    In 1765, the British parliament passed an act stating that the colonists must pay taxes for lodging British soldiers which the colonists considered useless and none of the colonists was interested in paying tax.

    On other side, the British was in need of money to pay for the war debuts that faced. The parliament and the king believed that they had the right to ask the colonists to pay tax, But the colonists refused and started to burn British products and boycotting their service.
