List the reasons why terrorists choose to pursue terrorism. What are some of the political goals of terrorism? In what ways are some terrorists associated with governments?

Terrorists are usually smaller groups of people that if compared to regular armies of countries seem insignificant. They pursue terrorism because they need the people to be afraid of them. Their strength lies in the public being afraid of them. If people weren't afraid of them then they wouldn't succeed. The political goals are usually to change a government or to impose a certain set of values that the terrorists believe is the right one.
