Religion influenced the Magna Carta, because the Magna Carta was made in part to protect the church's rights. It was also drafted the first time by the Archbishop of Canterbury, who is the most prominent figure in English Christianity (he is at the head of the Church of England). It was drafted at a time when England was still very tied to it's religion and the separation of Church and State by Henry the Eighth was not in place yet.
