    Basic human rights to freedom and liberty were being violated since families were not allowed to have more than a single child so if for example a woman was to become pregnant again, she would be forced to abort the child in secrecy so as to prevent being arrested or fined by the state. They also sometimes hid children and never told anyone that they had them in order to protect themselves.
