South Carolina’s colony’s roots can be traced back to 1670. South Carolina was founded by King Charles II during 1663; it is originally part of the Province of Carolina. King Charles II gave lands to the eight noble men of the South Carolina colony known as the Lords Proprietors. Originally, both the province of North Carolina and South Carolina are included in the foundation of King Charles II, but later on became separated royal colonies during 1729. During the separation, there was a scene of extensive military action that was during the Revolution, and then again, a scene of extensive military action during the Civil War which started in 1861.
