The economy of Saint Domingue flourished before the Seven Years War. One of the greatest activities of Saint Domingue was sugar.
Explanation:
This sugar was later exported to the "Old World". After the war, it exported raw sugar and refined sugar. "Saint Domingue" was known as the "Pearl of the Antilles", it was one of the richest colonies from the French Empire. The economy was dependent on labor too. Slaves remained strong against their "French rulers". Many of them found freedom by escaping to the mountains, forming communities and raiding plantations. Besides the slaves there were also ruthless plantation owners.
