How did Georgia become the state with the third largest film industry, trailing in California and New York

    Answer: tax incentives

    Georgia’s government awards large financial incentives for movie production companies and investors. A 20% tax break is awarded to companies who film in GA and they can receive another 10% if the include Georgia’s filming logo. In 2015, issued tax credits to the film industry of $504 million.
