    One of the main reasons why so many early civilizations arose near river valleys is because "c. Water created fertile soil and other agricultural advantages" since the water irrigated the soil. This was especially true in the Fertile Crescent.

    Many early civilizations arised near river valleys mostly because Water created fertile soil and other agricultural advantages.

    Explanation.

    This is because rivers provided them with water to drink, for watering their crops and for other domestic uses including for their animals and cleaning.

    The water or the rivers provided them a place to go fishing and during flooding the water made their lands very fertile.

    A good example of a settlement which was as a result of settlement was Mesopotamia where they settled between or near two rivers namely Tigris and Euphrates rivers.
