    Susan Durant was a avid sculptor lover. She became a assistant for the French sculptor, Baron Henri de Triqueti, who introduced her to the Royal Family. The Royal family was so impressed with her works, amongst their favorite is The Memorial to King Leopold of the Belgians. She eventually became a regular within the family for commissions.
