Why did japan find the industrial revolution a trap?

    Because they were not equipped, have anything special resources required for an industrial revolution. They only had coal and copper, their land and water such as rivers, and a little bit of capital on hand for the industrial revolution. Their greatest resource was the Japanese people themselves.
