Kirtland Safety Society Antibanking Company was a bank created by Joseph Smith which later failed partly as the result of Warren Parrish, who happened to be the bank's treasurer and other bank officers stealing funds. This made Joseph Smith to excommunicate Warren Parish from his church.

Due to the rift between Warren Parrish and Joseph Smith, Parrish and his armed gang went to the extent of confronting Smith in the church armed with pistols and bowie-knives. They were later ejected by the Police for causing trouble.

Parrish continued to be a nuisance against Joseph smith as he conitnued to take actions that were full of slander and falsehoods against Joseph Smith.
