    North Carolina was called the vale of humility between two mountains of conceit. where there are mountains of conceit there are at to be valleys of humility. poor North Carolina was in between the plantation Aristocrats of the South Carolina to the South, and the birthplace of the presidents and most powerful of the young States Virginia to the north. these were the two mountains of conceit, so to speak.
