Tell how the Enlightenment influenced the Founding Fathers? (Who? What?)

John Locke influenced Thomas Jefferson when he wrote the Declaration of Independence. For example; everyone being born with human rights, the government's legitimacy comes from the people consenting them to have power, and the fact that the governments main purpose is to protect their citizens.
