430 students went on a field trip. Nine busses were filled and eight students traveled by car. Let n represent the number of students on each bus

    so 422 people were on busses because 8 went by car so we subtract them from the total. now we divide this number by 9 to find n, or the total number of people on each of the 9 busses. so the equation would look like:

    9n+8=430

    (and we cant solve it because you cant have like 8 / 9 of someone because, well that is murder and you just cant do that ...) (math problems are weird)
