Davia draws a shape with 5 sides. Two sides are each 5 inches long. Two other sides are 4 incheslong. The perimeter of the shape is 27 inches. What is the length of the fifth side?

    To find the 5th length, you first have to write out the equation for the perimeter of an irregular pentagon. P = s + s + s + s + s. 27 = 5 + 5 + 4 + 4 + x. After subtracting all numerical values from the right side to the left side, you get the fifth side as being 9 inches long.
