A radar gun used to determine the speed of passing cars must be within 7 mph of the actual speed of a selected car. If a highway patrol officer reads a speed of 59 mph for a car, does he have irrefutable evidence that the car was speeding in a 55 mph zone?

    Check that the radar pistol has an error of 7 mph.

    Then we have that:

    59 mph - 7 mph = 52 mph approximately.

    52mph <55mph
