Jamie says that the expression s6x-2x+4 and 4 (x+1) are not equivalent because one expression has a term that is subtracted and the other does not. Do you agree? Explain

    I do not agree. When the expressions have like terms collected and are factored, they are the same.

    Step-by-step explanation:

    Make 6x-2x+4 the same as 4 (x+1):

    6x - 2x + 4 Collect the like terms 6x and - 2x

    = 4x + 4 Factor. Divide each term by 4 and take it out of a bracket

    = 4 (x + 1)

    4 (x+1) = 4 (x+1)

    They are equivalent expressions, just written differently.
