    1) Such area is the area under the curve y = √ (x+1) from x=-1 to x=3

    2) Such area is the inegral fo the function y = √ (x+1) from x = - 1 to x=3

    3) ∫ (√ (x+1) = [2/3] (x + 1) ^ (3/2) | from x = - 1 to x = 3

    [2/3] { (3+1) ^ (3/2) - (-1 + 1) ^ (3/2) = [2/3] { √ (64) - 0) } = 16/3 = 16/3

    Answer: 16/3
