    Number of yellow marbles = 6

    Number of purple marbles = 24

    Step-by-step explanation:

    Number of yellow marbles = x

    Number of purple marbles = 3x + 6

    Total marbles = 30

    x + 3x+6 = 30

    4x + 6 = 30

    4x = 30 - 6

    4x = 24

    x = 24/4

    x = 6

    Number of yellow marbles = 6

    Number of purple marbles = 3 * 6 + 6 = 18 + 6 = 24
