    The concept used in this item is ratio and proportion. The ratio of the height of the person to length of its shadow should be proportional to that of the pole. Let x be the length of the shadow of the pole,

    2.5 ft / 3 ft = 6.7 ft / x ft

    The value of x is 7.2 ft. Thus, the pole casts a shadow that is 7.2 long.

    Height:shadow=2.5:3

    2.5/3=6.7/x

    cross multiply aka times both sides by 3x

    2.5x=20.1

    divide both sides by 2.5

    x=8.04

    answer is 8.04ft
