I need to know how to solve 39-18=x-5

First you would subtract 39-18 which is 21. The you would have 21 = x-5. Your goal is to solve for x so you would add 5 to both sides to get the - 5 away from the x. This would come out to 21 + 5 = x. So 26 = x
