There are no set values of x, y or z, nor any other ketter of the alphabet. These are involved in algebra, which are used to represent the unknown. In questions such as x-2=4, you can use your mathematical knowledge to learn that in this case, x equals 6. However, this is only an example, and 6 is NOT the value of x
