A banner is made of a square and a semicircle. The square has side lengths of 26 inches. One side of the square is also the diameter of the semicircle. What is the total area of the banner?

    The area of the square is 26*26=676. The radius of the circle is 13, and the formula for a circle is pi (r^2). Since it is a semicircle the area would be. 5 (pi) (13^2) You need the total area, which is 676 +.5 (169) (pi).
