    To solve this problem you must apply the proccedure shown below:

    1 - You have that the length of the wire is 7 meters and the angle of depression is 47 degrees. Therefore, you have:

    Cos α=adjacent/hypotenuse

    α=47°

    adjacent=x

    hypotenuse=7

    2 - When you substitute the values above, you obtain:

    Cod (47°) = x/7

    3-Solve for x as following:

    x=7[Cos (47°) ]

    x=4.8

    The answer is: 4.8 meters
