You have a cake that was cut into 18 pieces. At the end of your party, one half of the cake was left. Then your friend took 5 pieces home for her family. What fraction of the cake do you still have? Simplify if necessary.

    18 divided by 2 is 9. 9 - 5 = 4. So, you have 4/18, or 2/9 left of the cake.
