X² + 5x + 6.
When the x² is alone, you just think of two numbers that add up to give 5 and multiply to give 6.
those are 2 and 3.
x² + 5x + 6
x² + 2x + 3x + 6
x (x + 2) + 3 (x + 2)
(x + 2) (x + 3)
