    False! <<< short answer.

    Graph the simplest one.

    y = x^2

    You might be deceived into believing that x^2/1000 will graph into a straight line or perhaps y = x^2 / 10000, but if you extend the x axis far enough, it will begin to bend upwards upwards, just as y = x^2 does. If you divide by any large number this side of infinity it might look straight, but it's not. You just have to extend the x axis as well.
