    Well, first of all you would need to find common denominators. Obviously 8 and 3 have a common denominator of 24, because 8 times 3 equals 24. Now, for the 4 6/8 the whole number (4) would stay the same, but the fraction would turn into 18/24 because you multiplied the denominator by three, and whatever you do to the bottom you must do to the top. For the 11 1/3 it would be 11 8/24 because the whole number (11 would stay the same while, again, you multiply both the top and bottom by 8. So, the problem would turn into 4 18/24 + 11 8/24, which equals 15 26/24. This would then simplify to 18 23/24.

    11 1/3 = (33/3) + 1/3=34/3

    so 38/8 + (34/3)

    to add you must get the bottom number equall so

    114/24+272/24=386/24=16 1/12
