Find the length of an arc of 40° in a circle with an 8 inch radius.

    The length of an arc in a circle is radius x the angle (Ф).

    Mind you angle Ф should be in radian.

    1st let's convert 40° into radian

    40/180 = x/π===> x = (π x 40) / 180 = = > x = 2π/9 = 0.698 radian

    so the arc length = 0.698 x 8 = 5.585
