Is One out of Ten the same as a 1 whole number?

    No, one out of ten is not the same as a whole number. by saying you have 1 whole thing you are saying it is not divided in any way ... therefore it is whole. if you say you have one tenth of something or 1/10 you are saying you have one piece out of those ten that was once all one bigger whole piece combine, you are saying what was once one is now that one divided up even smaller pieces and if they are smaller they are not the same or equal
