    The value of w in 6 + (w - 10) = 5 is w = 9

    Solution:

    From question given that

    6 + (w - 10) = 5

    On subtracting 6 on both sides, the above equation becomes

    6 + (w - 10) - 6 = 5 - 6

    By rewriting the above equation,

    6 - 6 + (w - 10) = 5 - 6

    0 + (w - 10) = 5 - 6

    On simplifying the above equation,

    (w - 10) = - 1

    Removing the parenthesis in above equation, we get

    w - 10 = - 1

    Now, on adding 10 on both sides,

    w-10+10=-1+10

    On simplifying above equation,

    w - 0 = 9

    w = 9

    Hence value of w = 9.
