Sylvia translated the phrase into an algebraic expression and then evaluated it for n=5

"the square of a number increased by 9" What is the value she should get?

    The value you should get is 34. I'm assuming n is variable we should use. "the square of a number increased by 9" = "n^2+9" in an algebraic expression. then you plug in. 5^2+9 and then solve. 5^2=25. 25+9=34
