A cylinder has a base area of 20.7 in2 and a lateral area of 25.3 in2. What is the surface area of the cylinder? Use 3.14 for π and round to the nearest tenth, if needed.

    Given that a cylinder has a base area of 20.7 in^2 and lateral area of 25.3 in^2. The surface of the cylinder will be given by:

    SA=πr^2+πrl

    where

    πr^2=base area=20.7 in^2

    πrl=lateral area=25.3 in^2

    SA = (base area) + (lateral area)

    SA=20.7+25.3

    SA=52.3 in^2
