Solve the problem. at the beginning of a trip, the odometer on a car reads 22,488 and the car has a full tank of gas. at the end of the trip the odometer reads 22,716 and there are 1.6 gallons remaining in the tank. the tank can hold a total of 9 gallons. what is the average rate of change of the number of miles with respect to the number of gallons

    22,716 - 22,488 = 228

    9 - 1.6 = 7.4

    228/7.4 = 30.8 is the average miles per gallon
