A television and DVD player cost a total of $1192. The cost of the television is three times the cost of the DVD player. Find the cost of each item.

    The answer is 298 and 894

    Because let the cost of the Tv Be Y and the cost of the DVD player be X so 3X=Y

    But we already know that X+Y=1192 so that means that 4x=1192 and X is equal to 294 so that means the Y=3*298 = 894
