You are making muffins for your class party. you need 2 cups of flour to make a pan of 12 muffins. you have a 5-lb bag of flour, which contains 18 cups. what is an inequality that represents the possible numbers of muffins you can make?

    2 cups of flower equals 12 muffins, which means that (2/12) (cups of flower/muffins) times m muffins = cups of flowers.

    On the second one, lets make an equation system.

    Lets call this seasons score x.

    Last season Betty scored 36 which is 8 less than twice the score this season.

    Translating this to an equation yields the following expression:

    2x - 8 = 36

    Then solving!

    2x - 8 = 36

    2x = 44

    x = 22
