    Hmm

    well, um

    if - 4 is a zero then if we subsitute - 4 for x, we should get 0

    so

    0 = (-4) ² - (-4) - (2k+2)

    0=16+4-2k-2

    0=18-2k

    2k=18

    divide by 2

    k=9

    k=9

    the value k is 9
