A rectangle has perimeter 58 cm and length 21 cm. What is it's width?

    The formula for perimeter for rectangle is (width + length) x 2

    so in her let y be the width,

    (y + 21) x2 = 58

    y + 21 = 29

    y = 8

    therefore the width is 8cm
