3 pies with meat, 3 pies with potatoes and 6 pies with jam are in a plate. Find the probability that Ted will take a pie with potatoes.

    The Basic formula of probability P(A) =A/B. (Number of ways A can occur)/(Total number of possible outcomes B). We have A=3 (pies with potatoes), B=3+3+6=12(total pies). P(3)=3/12=1/4=0.25.
